Karma Yoga and treading lightly on the earth……
A karma-yogi endeavours to cultivate five characteristics, an emphasis on process rather than outcome, an obligation towards others, intention to act with equanimity, to seek excellence in right action through dedication and effort, regard work as an offering to higher Self (Ishvarapranidhana).
Sometime called ‘yoga off the mat’ karma yoga is not simply about doing a good thing so that good things will happen to you, its more that we do good because its the right thing to do, right actions feel good and when we help others we feel positive because they feel good, in yoga we understand that this is because we are all connected.
Right now it feels like caring for our planet is a top priority, see below for some eco ideas…..
Karma Classes
We’ve always believed that yoga can help everyone and that karma yoga ( the course of right action ) is an important part of life. Coming soon to Be Moon studio a selection of donation classes taught by Be Yoga graduates of 2020.
The classes are £5 and all proceeds are split between the teacher and the current karma project. This month we are supporting the Yoga for Bhopal charity, more information here
Each month we select a new charity as our focus. If you, as one of our members, have a charity particularly close to your heart, let us know! We welcome fundraising suggestions from our members.
Have a read below about the charities we have been supporting over the past few years:

Climate Positive and Carbon Neutral
We’ve worked hard to find the best ways to lighten our carbon footprint, we’d like to share with you the really great finds we’ve come to rely on at Be…..
We now use Octopus Energy as an affordable way to use 100% renewable energy, our delicious smelling soaps are from Faith In Nature loo roll from The Cheeky Panda and our non-plastic bottles from Eco for Life…..
We’ve also found this website to be great for buying in bulk…. Big Green Smile
Recently we made the switch to a full electric car, surprisingly this was nowhere near as expensive as we thought it would be ( we are leasing not buying ) and there are loads of charging points in Sussex and some great financial incentives to switch, 200+ miles costs only £5 - £15! We’ve gone for the Kia e-Niro look out for the Be-Yoga blue car around town.
